How to Use TI-84 Calculator Online
Complete beginner guide — from basic calculations to graphing, statistics, and SAT prep. No download, no signup, no cost.
Open Free Calculator →Open Your Browser
Go to ti-84pluscalculatoronline.com on any device — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. No app needed.
Calculator Loads Instantly
The full TI-84 Plus CE interface appears automatically. Same keypad layout as the physical calculator — no learning curve.
Start Calculating
Use the on-screen buttons or your keyboard. Enter numbers, equations, or functions and press ENTER to get your result.
Switch Modes Anytime
Press MODE to switch between Degree/Radian, or jump between graphing, statistics, and algebra as needed.
How to Do Basic Calculations
Performing basic math on the TI-84 Calculator Online is exactly the same as the physical device. Here is all you need to know:
- Press number keys to enter your first number
- Press + − × ÷ for your operation
- Enter the second number and press ENTER
- Use the (−) button for negative numbers — not the minus sign
- Use ( and ) to group expressions and control order of operations
- Press CLEAR to reset and start a new calculation
How to Graph Functions
Graphing is the most powerful feature of the TI-84. You can plot any equation instantly and compare multiple functions at once.
- Press Y= and type your function (example: X^2 or 2X+3)
- Press GRAPH to plot it on screen immediately
- Use ZOOM to adjust the graph view
- Enter Y1, Y2, Y3 to graph multiple functions at once
- Use CALC menu to find zeros, max, min, and intersections
- Press TRACE to move along the curve and read values
Solving Equations & Fractions
Enter your equation in Y=, graph it, and use the CALC menu to find zeros — that is your solution. Convert decimals to fractions using MATH → Frac.
Sin, Cos, Tan Functions
Press SIN, COS, or TAN, enter your angle value, and press ENTER. Always check your MODE first — Degree or Radian — before starting any trig problem.
Mean, Median, Std Dev
Press STAT → Edit to enter your data in L1. Then go to STAT → CALC → 1-Var Stats to get mean, median, standard deviation, and more in one screen.
| Function | How to Access | Useful For | Exam |
|---|---|---|---|
| Graphing | Press Y= → type function → GRAPH | Algebra & pre-calculus questions | SAT ACT |
| Statistics | STAT → CALC → 1-Var Stats | Data analysis questions | SAT ACT |
| Equation Solving | Graph → CALC → zero | Word problems & algebra | SAT |
| Table of Values | 2nd → TABLE | Checking function behavior | ACT |
| Memory Storage | Press STO→ to store a value | Multi-step problems | SAT ACT |
| Regression | STAT → CALC → LinReg | Data & statistics questions | AP Stats |
Minus vs Negative Button
Many students press the minus (−) sign for negative numbers. This gives an error. Always use the dedicated (−) negative button for negative values.
Wrong Angle Mode
Starting a trig problem in Degree mode when Radian is needed (or vice versa) gives completely wrong results. This is the most common exam mistake.
Unclosed Parentheses
Forgetting a closing parenthesis changes the entire calculation. Complex expressions with multiple brackets need careful checking before pressing ENTER.
